Currently i'm a freshman at a 30ish ranked college and want to transfer to few of the top ones which offer undergraduate business programs (like Ross, McIntire, Wharton, Goizueta)

Ridiculously, my college just finds it impossible to offer me Calculus II, Micro and Macroeconomics in my freshman year, but they're avaible in the sophomore year.

Thus is it possible to transfer to the sophomore year during my sophomore year? Meaning if that is the case i will be taking sophomore year twice.

I emailed some of the schools and they gave me vague answers and didn't really answer my question. My SAT I composite score is 2190, although my highschool GPA isn't that great, still i'm pretty confident in maintaining a 4.0 GPA in my freshman year.

When you apply for transfer, you don’t get to choose whether you will be a sophomore or a junior in college at the new place. The receiving institutions places you. The receiving institution also is the one that determines which credits transfer, and as what.

It is entirely possible for you to be classified as a junior transfer based on total number of credits earned at your first institution, but have to repeat almost all of the coursework that you have previously done because all of the earlier credits are only recorded as electives. Until you have been accepted, and your transcript has been reviewed by the folks in charge of that, the receiving institution simply can’t give you the kind of clear answer you were hoping for.

What you need to do, is decide whether or not it is worth it to you to remain at your current institution for the time being. Perhaps you would be better served by applying to the other institutions now, in the hope of entering as a first year student next fall. If you take a leave from your current college second semester, you might be able to apply to the other places as a first year applicant. Check their websites to find out.

I did it. Sort of. I completed three semesters at my previous institution and took the spring off, then put on my application that I was applying as a sophomore. I’m loving it at my new school, but for financial reasons want to finish my undergrad in seven semesters (3 at the other school and 4 here), so they’re working with me to get my credits in order. You could also consider taking some of the courses your school won’t offer you at a local college over the summer if you want to get out of there asap.
