Transfer to Texas A&M Engineering School Spring 2011 or Fall 2011?

My GPA is currently 2.8 and at the end of the summer it will be up to 2.85 and at the end of Fall 2010 a 2.97. End of Spring 2011, my GPA for readmission should be 3.18. I will have all basics and CAL 1,2,3, Physics 1 and 2, and Chem 1 and 2 done. Most of the C's are from Summer 2009 and back, so since Fall 2009 till now I have gotten only 1 C in Cal 1 just all B's and A's and expect to keep it in this positive trend.
Physics 1 - A
Cal 1 - C
Cal 2 - A
Chemistry 1 - A
Government 1 - A
Government 2 - C
Art - B
History 1 - A
History 2 - A
Psych - C
Micro Economics - C
Socio - D
Intro to Chem - B (does transfer as 4 hrs so does count towards GPA)
Pre Cal - D
Pre Cal retake - B
English 1 - C
English 2 - C
English 1 retake - A
Trig - C
Coll Alg - C
Philosophy - C
Philosophy retake - B
Chem 2 - Fall 2010 (expected A for GPA)
Physics 2 - Fall 2010 (expected A for GPA)
Cal 3 - Fal 2010 (expected A for GPA)

So my question is that I know A&M will look at a candidate with at least a 2.5 GPA so would I be able to get in or not? I will have all the required in the Track completed except Technical Communications, which I can take December 2010 mini mester or second summer session. What would you guys recommend? I have spoken to head of the transfer of the computer engineering/computer science transfer and she has told me that they have accepted transfer students as low as 2.8 GPA in the past but it's pretty rare. Also another thing is that I will have a 2.8 at the end of the summer and for Spring admission, they will only look at everything completed by summer, so then she recommended to start my undergrad upper level classes at another university, and I have chosen UH and expected to take Intro to ECE there in the fall as well and she told me in the spring 2011 take classes that might transfer into A&M and also give you credit for UH, so I will do that, that way if I still don't get into A&M Fall 2011 then at least I haven't wasted a semester or two. One more thing I will be duel enrolled, like taking 12 hrs of chem2/cal3/phys2 at my community college and take 1 credit hour Intro to ECE at UH in the fall 2010. And I will apply to A&M for spring 2011 admission by October 15 to give it a shot, if denied continue at UH in Spring 2011 and give another try for Fall 2011. Hey,! I am transferring from Lone Star College North Harris in Houston Texas, but if I don't get in by Spring 2011 then I will be transferring from University of Houston by Fall 2011, I will be enrolled in University of Houston in Spring 2011 full time if not accepted to A&M. I really want to go to Aggie Land!!! Thanks in advance!!

HEY!! im from Houston 2, my sister goes to North Harris… but anyways… its gonna be hard to get in with that GPA… by bf was denied with a 3.3 but he is gonna raise it up and try again in the Spring… I got in as a transfer to general with a 3.58 but I hope to get into Mays Junior year once I finish the rest of the business classes I need to take

yeah I was reading your posts about transferring, and GRATZ you got in. Yah the thing is that I know it’ll be hard, but I will def go to UH and try to put in a full 12-15 hr semester in spring 2010 ( and I’ve made sure those classes transfer as upper level courses for engineering ). And I will raise it up, I have most of the courses done in the track and my CBK GPA will be really high, 3.24 right now, and with the fall semester done, about 3.56. Any other recommendations??

well other than raising up that GPA and getting in those extra classes, make sure your essay is near perfect and get it in early (they claim to do rolling admissions) but I dnt know about all that because I was waiting for ever and I got my app and grades in really early, but still get it in early… other than that just keep your eye on AIS and hopefully you’ll be an Aggie in the Spring! Goodluck
