Hey guys, so I am an international student looking to transfer to the US, more specifically either University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign for economics, or University of Virginia for finance for Spring 2016 as a sophomore
I just finished my freshmen year with 36 credits and I have a 3.63 GPA. I have completed all their course requirements for transfer, and a few more that hopefully may transfer too. I am also studying at an US accredited university. I was pretty much a straight A student in school, I don’t know if they review high school grades for transfer students, but since I have <60 credits, I’m hoping they will since they are my saving grace! (I’m not too pleased with my GPA). I am also the first generation woman of my family to go to college.
I recently gave my SAT for the first time and I did pretty badly. I got a 1780 - CR 600, Math 610, Writing 540. Both colleges say it is optional for transfers, but “highly recommended” to send in your SAT score.
I am also part of a tonne of University clubs and have quite a bit of volunteering work to add on to my profile.
What do you guys think? Considering all these factors, what are my chances of getting in?
