Hi I'm a Junior from a private catholic university and was wondering what my shots are at UIUC and GWU for Spring 2006. I am an economics major w/ a 3.42 gpa. My ECs include research for an economist, internship at BEA, tutoring inner city kids in literacy, and a research project this semester. What are my chances? And do SATs matter? My SAT is kind of low. Can anyone give me advice? Thanks!

can anybody give me advice?

I think you have a good chance at UIUC. You should go there, I think you'll enjoy much more than GWU, sorry I'm biased, a lot of my friends are Illinis, and I might also be one next year. I'm not sure how much the SATS matter, and I think with all those ECs and with a solid GPA this semester you have a good shot.

SATs dont matter, just your grades in college. Are you instate?

SATs matter, but less so.

No they don't. UIUC does not take or ask for SATs.

I thought you were referring to the transfer process in general. I apologize.

Hi I am out of state! Does this make admissions into UIUC even more difficult?

I have another question. UIUC does not require SAT scores, but by default the application asks for my scores , and I put them in, and it also says it on my college transcript. Will they still factor it in? I'm worried because they see my SAT score either way.

I think it's tougher for out of state, though it's generally easier for spring because kids drop out, study abroad, or switch majors. As long as you keep your grades up I think you should be fine. Don't worry too much about your SAT scores, I think they're more of a formality, if you have good grades it won't matter, and you're applying as junior so you have some college courses for them to look at.

I wouldn't even bother putting it on there unless you don't have enough credits as a general transfer. Which is less then 30 (says that right on the app).
