Is a 3.71 gpa at SFASU competitive enough to transfer to UT Austin in the fall?
I also have 4 letters of recommendation. One from my high school principal (who was also my advisor) one from my political science professor (Who is my current college advisor) one from my english professor (who went to UT and Columbia) and one from the director of the honors program (Who went to duke and is also a political science professor.) i can also get one from my state representative, who i did a summer internship, but i’m worried it will sound too generic because i didn’t really know him.
The average for COLA transfers I believe is around a 3.6, so you should be somewhere around the average for admitted students. Just work on getting your GPA up as high as possible and really hone your essays to present yourself as well as possible. Also, 4 LOR’s might be too many, I’ve never heard of someone submitting that many - might want to keep it to 2-3 but I could be wrong about that, they aren’t required after all. I would cut out the one from high school if you are going to get rid of any. UT really only cares about what you have been doing since you started college so your professors will hold the most weight.
transferring from UT Dallas to UT Austin COLA Econ with a cumulative GPA of 3.857 with 3 of the pre reqs completed with A’s and an A+ and currently enrolled in for the last one for the next term. Ive got a few ECAS and can get 2-3 letter of recommendations. Im also in state if that helps. Could someone please tell me my chances of getting in for spring 2019?
