Transfer: U Mich, UVA, Ohio State, UIUC, etc.

Haven't posted on here in a long time, since i applied to college as a high school student, but I am thinking of transferring.

I currently attend Va Tech, and don't get me wrong I love the place, and would recommend it to most people, just something has made me want to transfer... lol thats all i can say.

So I have a GPA of about 3.6 and an in major GPA of about the same.

Freshman, out of state

Chemical Engineering.

In the Honors Program here, and a couple of other groups.

Made dean's list

Received a lot of scholarships to come here.

SAT scores (don't know if these still count for ne thing) about 1350/2000

I was thinking of Michigan, UVA, UIUC, Ohio State, Depaul, maybe Purdue, U Texas, idk.... I love sports and to party, big school feel, etc. But it needs to be a good engineering and possibly business school (thinking of switching majors).

Open to any suggestions on schools! Be nice (I know I don't have stellar stats) but be blunt so i don't waste money applying. Thx in advance

out of the schools you listed UT Austin is the best one which meets your interests
sports + party + great education = UT
the business school in is the top 10…don’t know much about the engineering
I’ve been accepted to UT too and I’m in state so its even cheaper but I don’t think I’ll be attending because I just want to get out of Texas

I would add Georgia Tech to your list. They’re good in business as well as engineering. They have a good football team as well, at least on par with Virginia Tech most years. I’d also add Auburn. They’re certainly not as well recognized academically but it’s a great school with solid engineering and business and a great overall experience. Notre Dame is another one although avoid it if you don’t like cold weather.

I just realized how old your post was, all the same, hope this helps.
