Transfer - Upward trend significance?

I am a current Freshman student at Wake Forest University. I’m intent on transferring for Fall 2015, and I’m considering Penn as an option. I fooled around first semester and finished with a 3.22 GPA, but this semester I aim to get a 3.9-4.0, which would bring my overall to around a 3.6. I graduated HS with a 3.7 and scores of 2200 and 32 on my SAT and ACT, respectively. Does anybody think that the upward trending GPA helps me? Also, how do my stats look (if everything goes as planned grades-wise)?

Thanks in advance!

PS
What are the different admission statistics for Wharton and CAS?
Also, Penn says they require both Micro and Macro Introductory Econ courses, but here those are combined into a single Intro to Econ course

Yes, upward trend is always good. But keep in mind that a GPA trend that goes from 4.0 to 4.0 will be perceived better than a trend that goes from 3.2 to 4.0 since it shows academic excellence. So yes, the upward trend helps, but it won’t be a “big” boost. But don’t let discourage you, an increase from 3.2 to 4.0 will surely be noticed!
Your test scores are spot on.
It’s harder to get into Wharton. I don’t think Penn releases school-specific statistics anymore.

If you’re worried you haven’t fulfilled the requirement, feel free to contact the admissions office, they’ll be happy to help (probably after the RD madness though).

Good luck!
