Transfer waitlist decisions taking too long

Even as the 3rd week of June progesses, I have yet to hear back from UVA since I found out I was waitlisted on April 1st. I figured last week that it was about time to call, just to make sure UVA had recieved my spring transcript. However when I did call and asked about when exactly decisions were going to be released, the person I spoke to replied by saying that the Dean for McIntire was on leave for a week and no decisions would be made for at least one more week (great timing, right?). By the time I finally get my letter (of rejection) it will likely be early July.

I'm just having troubling understanding why this process is taking so long...aren't all deposits in by now for the entering McIntire class? I mean obviously if I get accepted I won't care as much about all this, but most likely I'll just get my rejection letter and then fully realize how drawn out this process turned out to be.

They seem to be holding decisions for all people. I have a friend stuck on the WL, so I feel your pain (she's a childhood bestfriend and will end up living with me next year if she makes it, and i'm excited with that thought!). Apparently a dean was out of the office last week. Are you sure they weren't referring to that? And it seems dumb that they would hold all decisions, which they seem to be doing because she doesn't have an answer either. The blog said all decisions would be sent out by the 17th, so I guess they're really waiting for the 17th to roll around. Did they say anything about CLAS?

Yea I think they were referring to the Dean being out of the office but just worded it incorrectly. Either way, its adding to the time (and the timing does matter because I need to buy an airplane ticket to Spain for study abroad if I stay at my current school).

If they are honestly still holding all decisions that is ridiculous, the people who have no shot should be notified, I'm sure they can cut down their waitlist by at least 1/2 or 2/3 because theres no way a massive amount of kids will say no to McIntire.

I'm not sure about CLAS, I only asked about McIntire decisions, but i have to imagine CLAS can't be handling all waitlisters to the very end of their stated notification period, like McIntire

So my friend's online status page changed, basically saying they didn't take her off the waitlist. But, she told me about the blog and how it said no online decisions would be posted, just mailed. Did your online status change as well?

Yea mine changed and I haven't been accepted as well. The transfer blogger said "it is my understanding that this will not appear online. However, you will be notified by mail in the next few days."

Thats not a definite yes or no on the online decisions, so I think whatever is posted online is the final decision. I doubt UVA would make a big mistake like this and release the incorrect decisions, people are probably just trying to hold on to some last hope that by some miracle UVA messed up...which is quite unlikely.
