TRANSFER

hi so I’m a junior in high school and I’m committed in going to a community college and later on transferring to Ucla or Ucsb. I’ve already checked out assist.org, but I’m a bit confused. I know that to get into UCLA I have to meet all the pre req’s and complete 60 credits… now let’s say I don’t get into UCLA, will all of the credits I worked for transfer over for when I apply to UCSB?

oh and I forgot to mention that I would like to go to Santa Monica college, or Pasadena City college

Yes - most transfer applicants apply to multiple UCs (and CSUs). In general, the credits will apply to most of California’s public colleges. The specific list of required classes does vary by campus, so be sure to meet all the requirements of your target schools. Another thing to research is TAG - the UCs Transfer Guarantee program. It excludes UCLA, UCSD and UCB and some majors at other campuses but, it functions like a simple contract. You take the classes on the list, maintain the stated GPA (3.2-3.5 for most majors at most schools) and you are in.

Your CC will have info or, just Google UC TAG.
