Which universities offer the best financial aid packages to transfer students? I am interested in transfering partly because my major doesn't make sense at my current my college, but primarily because I'm not a big fan of graduating with $40,000 in loans (minus compounded interest).

From my personal experience:

Schools with good FA for freshmen also offer good FA to transfers.

FA is directly proportional to the size of the college's endowment.

I got a better package at Wesleyan than I was getting at Bard. FAFSA judged my EFC to be 12K, Wesleyan judged it at 14K, and I'm only paying 14K (plus Stafford Loan and a $1700 Wesleyan loan).

There are a number of schools that offer need based aid to ALL students, even transfers. The number of schools that offer merit scholarships to transfers is lower, though.
