Hi, i was wondering how feasible it is to apply to the College and then transfer to SFS or if it would be better to just apply to sfs in the first place. Right now my app would be done if i were applying to the college, however i want to go to SFS but the essay prompt for it annoys me.

So please respond if you know anything about transfering from the college to SFS thanks.

from what I hear, it isn't too difficult. From what you said, I don't think an essay prompt is a reason not to apply to a particular school. If you want to go to SFS, why wait a year? Transferring's possible, but you'd miss out on some of those classes that only freshmen SFSers get to take. Buckle down and right the essay: if you know where you want to apply, you apply THERE, and not anywhere else. Common sense, IMO.

When I got my phone call from the GAAP, the dude who called me had transferred from the COL w/ a govt major to the SFS w/ an int. politics major......it's def. doable.

I hear that it's not too difficult, but you really should apply to the school that interests you the most, not the one that is easier or the one that you feel has a better essay prompt.

However, it is hard to transfer back into your original school, so make sure which school you really want to be in in the first place.

yes. you don't want to regret your choice down the road.

thats really good to hear. the problem with the essay is if i write one on a "current global issue" now, im pretty sure its going to suck. but i know my "autobiographic" essay is good. my first goal is to get into GU and so i guess im wondering how much a average essay matters, but its reasuring to know i can transfer

it can also be a local, state, or national issue. If you want to go to SFS, you really should apply to SFS.
