I was wondering what the difficulty was for transferring between California State Universities. For example, if someone went to CSUEB and tried to transfer to SJSU, Cal Poly Pomona, or SDSU, what would be the chances? Are applicants who transfer from a CSU to another CSU negatively viewed upon and are the last to be reviewed? I also heard it is extremely difficult to transfer from a CSU to a UC, but how about UCR? Can anyone tell me something about this from what they personally know or heard from someone else?
I think so
It is not extremely difficult. The issue is making sure you have 60+ transferable units and have completed every single pre-req listed on assist.org and/or department websites. That’s what tripped me up this year.
Make sure you’ve completed any math/English requirements for your target UC/CSU as well. My CSU doesn’t require 2 semesters of English but I think UCs do.
If the demand for a major is high I don’t think you have as good of chance as a CCC student but that doesn’t mean there isn’t one.
I transferred from a CSU and will be attending UCSC come fall, which was my goal. I got into the only CSU I applied to when I honestly didn’t think I wouldn’t as the major is impacted there.
Your situation may be quite similar to mine, if I may ask what major are you in?
