how hard is it to transfer from UC to UC. i know they give priority to community college students, but i want to transfer from davis to berkeley after two years and i was wondering what the chances are. like, does anyone know the transfer admit rate to berkeley from another uc?

I'm not sure how hard it is, but in my four years at UC Davis I knew of only one kid who tranferred to Berkeley. Mostly because once they got to Davis nearly everyone liked it so much that they forgot about whatever transfer plans they may have had.

Check the Transfer Student forum. There are many questions concerning the UC-UC process, and I believe I have answered a few questions on this.

I am, however, no professional, and am not a UC-UC transfer. But I am starting at UC Berkeley this fall, and believe that of all the transfer students (including community college, csu, uc, and out of state) that applied this past year, about 25% of them were admitted.

Priority is given to California Community College transfers. It is more difficult to get in from another UC. I do not know if it is easier to get in as a transfer from a UC or another California University, but I would lean towards UC because courses are easier to transfer over and satisfy requirements.

Give UC Davis a chance for the next two years. I actually found Davis as quite a nice backup, and was actually impressed by what I saw there. I wasn't expecting much, and found the campus and town to be lovely.

If you still want to transfer, make sure you have a good gpa, and prove further leadership qualities in areas outside the classroom. Volunteer, intern, form a club, etc.

I agree with the above poster. Although I am very happy to be going to Cal, I could see myself very content and pleased at UC Davis if I ended up there.

Good Luck.
