Transfering from NC State

Hello, I am a freshmen at NC State and I plan on transferring to a different school in the Fall of 2016. The schools I plan on applying to are BU, Northeastern, Syracuse University, UMass Amherst, UNH, and either UMass Lowell or Wentworth. From high school I was accepted into UMass Amherst, UNH, and UMass Lowell, I was denied from BU and Northeastern, and I didn’t apply to Syracuse and Wentworth. At this point during the semester I’ve set myself up to at least make deans list (3.25) and I’m hoping that I can get higher than that. Also for the spring semester at NC State I plan on transferring from the standard college here into the Scholars College; it is a notch above standard but still below the honors college. I’ve looked at the information for all of these schools about the transfer process and in general I feel that if things keep going the way they do I should be able to get into all the schools I’m looking at except for potentially BU or Northeastern. Basically my question is am I setting myself up well to get into the schools I am applying too and am I giving myself a good chance to get financial aid. I know the best packages are given to four year students but I have a twin sister going to an expensive private school so that helps when I’m applying for financial aid. My top choice out of all these schools is Syracuse. If anyone could provide me with any feedback on how easy/hard it is to transfer into the schools I’ve listed or if any has any information on how generous the schools I listed are with financial aid for transfers the information would be greatly appreciated. Also if anyone could provide any information on what I should do to make my transfer application look more attractive to prospective schools that would also be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Also, I had a 1950 on my Sat and 1310 two part and my gpa on a 5 point weighted scale was 3.9 I believe. I’m also from Massachusetts if that counts for anything.

Why are you transferring may I ask?

So far the school just hasn’t been a good fit for me. It seems like a lot of high school friend groups just came directly from high school to NC State and greek life is also a lot more prominent than I thought it would be. Basically there are two distinct groups, high school friends and greek life, that have made it hard to meet people that I get along with well because I didn’t go to high school here and I don’t really want to get involved with Greek life.
