I live in Pa and am currently a Business Administration Major at Penn State Shenango( The smallest Penn State Branch there is ) I had planned to stay there. I now want to go for accounting which is nt offered at my campus. I am in my 5 semester and am about halfway done. I want to do accounting really bad. I cannot transfer away from home due to my son. I have 2.4 (I was a slacker for 2 semesters) I am really starting to do well in school. My gpa isnt reflective of my work that I;m now doing due to my first 2 semesters. I would like to transfer to Slippery Rock University which has Business, Marketing , Econmics, Finance, and Accounting. So I have options and fallback plans. My GPA would be reset which would make me feel a lot better and give me a clean slate. It is the exact same distance away from my house, so its no different of a drive. I am worried that Slippery Rock will not get me as a good of a job as Penn State, I really like Penn State but I like the other school too. I'm torn, also no matter which major I do, I am going to get an MBA. Also I don't plan to leave my small town (hour north of Pittsburgh). I have responsibilities here so that's that. I want to know what you guys think. SRU.EDU is the website . Also, Penn State is almost 7 grand a semester and this school is only 3500 so since I get no financial aid what so ever I think thats a great advantage. Please help with this problem. I am so sorry to ramble it's just a lot to think about. Sorry one more thing, My fiancee gos to Penn State so we do commute together to school and I'm worried about us having problems from seperating schools but also I know it would be good to get away.
Please help Josh

go to slippery rock and do well. you will be fine.

I really wanted to know what you guys would do if you were in my shoes. Go to Penn State or Slippery Rock. I want to do Accounting and you can’t put a price on being happy.

If you want to do Accounting then go to Slippery Rock. It’s fine. really. Don’t worry about the “Penn State Degree”. Later when you get on your feet - go get your MBA from PSU, if you want.
Good Luck.
Finish your education, find a job and support your family - sounds like you have a career in mind, accounting, now go for it.

I just don’t know that much about branch campuses, so it’s really hard for me to give advice. Obviously, I think the best option is the one that is most beneficial to your family. Best of luck.

thanks alot everyone!! If anyone has any other advice, I really appreciate it. This decision is overwhelming

It’s only as overwhelming as you make it.
You want an accounting degree, Slippery Rock has it, it’s cheaper than Penn State and doable. Just go do it and don’t overthink it!
Good Luck! Take care of the little one!

Thanks, I will he’s my entire life so every decision I make is what’s best for him. Thanks
