Transfering into Cornell (Fall 2011)

Hey,

I am rather unhappy at my current school (University of Rochester) for a different number of reasons. A few of them are, I don't feel challenged, the people here aren't as focused as I thought they would be, and I feel trapped on campus a lot. So, I was wondering how difficult it would be for me to transfer into Cornell. A few of my friends go there, and I really liked it when I visited (applied last year but no luck). I would probably transfer as a mechanical engineer to the Engineering school, or as a biomechanical engineer to CALS.

Other points - I was born and raised in Japan (my mother is Japanese) until 3rd grade, so English is not my first language.

I know my SAT scores arn't the best, so should I retake them?

Let me know what you guys think and if there are any suggestions on what I could do to improve my chances. Thank you!

Anyone have any suggestions for me?

Cornell has a lot of work, and I believe Cornell does not have Biomechanical engineering, but only Bioengineering. I am pretty sure you will get in if you transfer. You have a better stats than I have. Pre-lims are harder than it should be. But otherwise Cornell is a great school, so do consider before you transfer to Cornell.
