Transfering into Stanford

I came to realize, bleak predictions benefit you more than comments like "you are in".

From heart, i really wish you get in (if you are in then presumablly i am in)

My chances thread is the one to which you already posted called "Impossible Transfer Dreams." I acknowledge that Stanford is by far the most competetive school to which I am applying. I just composed my final college list that will hopefully keep me out of San Francisco State. I am applying to sixteen colleges: USC, Stanford, UCB, UCLA, CMU, John Hopkins, Emory, NYU, Northwestern, UChicago, UMich-Ann Arbor, UF, UNC-Chapel Hill, UTexas-Austin, UVirginia, and WUSTL. If possible, I'll add a UC. I had TAA with Santa Cruz.

Sorry about your luck with the UCs. Did you ever take the TOEFL?

no because I thought my english skill was suffice.

transfer is actually not that hard, however u have some unique competitions (40 year old business man with millions of dollar who want to get a degree, etc)

I have personally seen ppl who transfered into
MIT
Stanford

and i even know a girl who got into Harvard from China.

I am also applying to john hopkins, but so far i dont; know about transfer statistics.

I am applying to

UCB
UCD
UCSD
UCLA
Stanford
John Hopkins
Brown (?)
Cornell

Thanks. I know you have a better shot than I do.

I understand what you mean about the bleak predictions (especially considering they are more realistic), but you shouldn't be so harsh, and you should not tell other people not to apply because you are applying. You sound egotisical when you do that. I don't think that Stanford like egotists...

John Hopkins I know accepts about 15-20%. The admin counselor with whom I spoke from Cornell basically said that I won't be accepted without more work experience... Still, Brown and Cornell accept more transfers than Stanford does. I think you should gain acceptance to the UCs. However, they won't see your high SAT score, nor your excellent high school history.

We are you transfering so soon. You would have a better chance with a junior transfer, than sophomore transfer. Anyway, good luck.
