<p>I was wondering about this myself. I mean - if I was accepted to UMD and UMBC but started out at UMBC, would I be able to get into UMD as a transfer student later on? </p>

May I ask why you want to trasfer out of UMBC? </p>
<p>Regarding backup schools - - can you give an idea of what area you are majoring? Without more information - I would just name schools around the area of MD (since thats where you seem to be focusing) like Towson and Goucher and Loyola… really need more info to give targeted “backup schools”. </p>
<p>Sorry for the late reply. Yes, I believe a lot of students transfer out of UMBC because of academic reasons. But don’t get me wrong, UMBC has great programs for certain fields. </p>
<p>I applied going in as a freshman but did not get in. Now I am applying after a year at UMBC to CP.</p>
