Transfering to Edinburgh Napier University

Greetings!
If any of you have transfered from, well, anywhere really, to Edinburgh Napier University, I’d love to hear about it.
They aren’t very detailed on their website, and I’m just trying to figure out if I’d be able to take two years of community college and then transfer.
Looking at Graphic Design if that helps.
Thank you so much in advance!

Transfers are not a usual thing in the UK, and the structure is very different than in the US.

Edi Napier does take some students in Year 2, and a very few in Year 3. Admissions to Graphic Design has a portfolio requirement and also requires some art / design coursework (whether you apply straight from HS or for entry to Y2 or Y3). However, if you aren’t already in CC, it would be a very high risk plan to do 2 years there and then apply to transfer hoping for 3rd year status.

Edi also takes some students in Year 2, but 1) you have to have met the regular undergrad entry requirements and 2) you would need to have your CC coursework be accepted as equivalent. There is no 3rd year entry option. There is also a portfolio requirement.

In both cases you would have to work directly with the universities to ensure that your CC coursework would meet the course admissions requirements.

That’s not getting into the pieces of why those programs / are you thinking you can stay & work (problematic and getting more so) / do you have the funds (as an intl student you have to show that you have them to get the visa), etc.

tl;dr; not impossible for a Y2 entry /v unlikely for Y3 @ Edi N (so at best saving 1 year); not easy to do and a high risk strategy.

Okay, thank you very much!

They may offer you Year 2 entry if you completed your first year of community college with A’s in the equivalent to the core courses required in Year1.
