does it hurt your chance of transfering to ives (HYP specifically) if you applied to a college senior year and was rejected but has pretty solid stats freshmen year in college? like... would it work better for u if u never applied senior year and just apply freshmen as a transfer?

like... does it work against u if u applied previously and was rejected? i didnt really care about my essays so i think that was my weak point and that's why i was rejected.

I would say that it is positive for schools that care about "demostrated intrest". That is, colleges that give bonuses if you call them up or visit.

Other colleges, like stanford, say they dont care about demostrated intrest and thus wouldnt care if you applied before. When I asked the admissions office at stanford they said they dont care just like they dont care if you visit.

I cant think of any way that it would hurt you.

so many people apply to the ivies and get rejected there will be tons of people like you. they wont be surprised to see you've surprised before. they'll say oh, and i think his dog applied too.
