Transfering to NU after 2 years at another school.

So, right now, I'm starting my junior (3rd) year of university. I really want to transfer to Northwestern University for winter quarter. Do you think that is possible?

The admissions site online says, "Because of our residency requirement, applicants who have completed substantially more than two years of undergraduate work elsewhere are discouraged from applying." However, if I transfer for winter semester, I'll be able make the residency requirement of completing your last 23 units (six quarters of full-time study) while enrolled as an undergraduate at Northwestern.

Any help?

Are you planning to stay an extra quarter? If not, you will not have the residency requirement fulfilled. Take a look. If you transfer winter quarter of your junior year, then you will have

 1. winter quarter junior year
 2. spring quarter junior year
 3. fall quarter senior year
 4. winter quarter senior year
 5. spring quarter senior year

That is not six quarters. I’ve never met a transfer who came in that late at NU, and frankly I doubt it is possible in one of the traditional undergraduate school. If you really want to get an NU degree, you can look into the school of continuing studies here: [Degree Programs - School of Continuing Studies - Northwestern University](http://www.scs.northwestern.edu/prospective-students/degree-programs.cfm)

Hope this helps, but obviously the best, most accurate answer to your question will come from the admissions office itself, which I suggest you call with this question.

I was planning on taking a summer quarter. thanks for the info

Has anyone transferred into NU after two tears?

Years* I meant
