NU states in her website that transfer students should have obtained 24 semester credits at the time he/she is applying to NU as a transfer student. So that means I cant apply for sophomore standing during my freshman year?

yea thats right. U must stay at your current college for at least 2 semester before being considered for transfer admissions

That means NU just accepts junior transfers(who apply during their sophomore year). Right?

@Evolitak, applying after you’ve obtained 24 or two semesters albeit, signifies that you at least should have sophomore standing before consideration is taken into account. Now if you have four semesters under your belt however than you would be applying as a potential junior because you would have amassed 60 credits or slightly less depending on the college’s standing of each class.

i know someone who transferred from their freshman year into sophomore year at northwestern.

^
Did your friend get enough 24 sem credits at the moment he applied?
Or the applicants just have to acqurie 24 sem credits before ENROLMENT?

having 24 credits just means taken or in the process of taking. you just need to have good midterm grades in the classes that you are currently enrolled in so that it looks like you will pass them and end up with over 24 credits. but of course NU wants more than just passing grades lol

^
But here is how the NU website says:

"What is a transfer applicant?

If you HAVE

graduated from secondary school and

COMPLETED one year (24 semester hours or 36 quarter hours) of academic study at a college or university AT THE TIME that you apply to Northwestern"
