haven't been on this forum for a while, but i guess i'm in the process to apply for colleges again...fun.

I'm currently a freshman the carlson school of management at the university of minnesota intending to major in finance and international business and minor in german. I'm pretty sent on Business and that's why i'm not applying to michigan in general. I'm already in a good business program so switching to another major is not what i really want to do. While i really like it in minnesota and i'm having a great time here, but i want to take a shot at Ross which was my first choice coming out of high school. i know that it's gonna be really competitive, but i wanted to see if someone has gone through this experince already so that they can give me some insight.

some of my stats,
Only a 3.6 UW coming out to high school (normal average high schoo) probably just in the top 25% of my class.
currently a 3.6 -3.8 this semester and hopefully the same next semester.
i got a 30 ACT, which isn't all that high by Ross's standard.

In state at Michigan...live in Ann Arbor actually.

EC in college
-Advertising Manager (exec board) of business association for multicultural students.
-Pledge of Beta Theta Pi Fraternity and should be a member next semester if my GPA is good enough. Also the Choirmaster for the pledge class of Betas at UMN.
-very active member of Investor Financial Organization
-Member of UMN table Tennis Club/Team

it's my freshman year, so i didn't over load, just picked some of the things i'm fairly passionate about....like what everyone before us has stressed.

I Also working part time as a computer center coordinator at my residence hall. 10hr/wk

I know that the essay is going to be very important, i've realized that the application process is almost too random to predict but what can i do to help me get into a very good school.

Thanks and sorry for the lengthy post.
