Transferitis

Hey guys.

Freshman year - U of Montana (athletic scholarship)
Sophomore year, I transferred to the U of Minnesota.

Cumulative GPA - 3.5

Econ/Poli Sci Major

I really, really would like to get into Cornell's PAM program, thing is, next Fall I will already be a junior.

Is it even worth trying to transfer one more time?

More info:

First generation college student.
Coming from a low(er) income family.

I don’t know about Cornell, but a lot of schools don’t accept students with more than 5 semesters of credits. This would grant you one more semester, but I don’t know that Cornell takes many (any?) students for spring transfer, considering how few are accepted in the fall.

I just know that at a private school I could pretty much go for free because of my financial situation, whereas at a top public school, I have to pay sticker price.

Anyone? Sorry for the bump.

Even if you have a low EFC, it does not mean a college will give you institutional aid from their own coffers to make it a free ride. First, transfer students are often short changed in the FA process. Second, the colleges that tend to actually do that for trans students are uber elites that generally turn away high unit trans students. I guess try listing a few target schools and get opinions on their FA packages for low EFC trans students.

Some of my target schools are Cornell (PAM), Emory, Brown, or Duke.
