Transferring after being accepted the previous year?

Though I ultimately really want to attend Hillsdale, I’d really like to either go to Western or a community college for a year first. Does anybody know if Hillsdale, or colleges in general, are less likely or more likely to accept you again if you didn’t attend before? Would they prefer Western over community college? Would I have a decent chance at still getting merit aid? Does Hillsdale give transfer students as much merit aid as freshman?

I’m sorry - what?

This reads like “There’s a Mercedes AMG in the driveway with the keys in it, but, I’d really like to demo the Ford Focus or the Ford Fiesta before I commit.”
