Question about transferring from community colleges (FALL/SPRING TERMS???) HELP PLEASE!!

I’m currently a senior in high school and I’ve recently been rejected by most of my top choice schools (Accepted to Cal State Northridge, Cal State Fullerton, UC Riverside; Rejected from UC Irvine, UCLA; Waiting on UC Berkeley, USC, NYU - still hoping, but very doubtful).

I had a 2280 SAT and a 3.7/3.8 W GPA, but had 4 C’s and 2 D’s in my Honors/AP classes without any “valid” reasons - likely why I was rejected from most schools.

That being said, I plan to attend a community college (looking at Santa Monica College and Pasadena City College) and then transfer to another private university or UC (likely looking to transfer to the schools I’ve applied to & have been rejected from ahahaha). My intended major is Business Accounting/Administration.

My problem (and question):
I noticed that I am too late to apply to SMC’s Fall term (PCC’s Fall term is still open, but I think that because I am applying so late, most if not all classes are taken and that may jeopardize my transfer chances). I didn’t really think about applying to Community Colles prior to receiving my rejection letters (I really should have thought about…). I want to know if attending the Spring term is okay … would it have any effect on my transferring? or what should I do … I’ve looked up info about transferring (not in depth), but I’m still not too sure and I really don’t want to mess this up (again). I really want to have a chance at fixing my mistakes in high school, and I hope this won’t hurt my chances.

Thanks!! I’d really appreciate some help…and maybe other students in similar circumstances can refer to this as well. I hope there isn’t already a thread with a similar topic … if so, delete this please, but refer me to the topic?? I really need to research like crazy about the transferring process…no messing up again! Thanks again!!

I hope you see this. I’ll be attending SMC starting the summer. Enrollment for summer classes has not even begun yet. If you apply to community college now you’ll still be ahead of the majority of people applying. You’ll be able to start in the fall just fine.
