Transferring and Retaking the SAT

Hey all,

I'm a student who got a 1990, and then 2160 on the SAT. I've been denied at all the Ivies, and WL at Penn.

I'd like to transfer to an Ivy (Penn, Harvard, Yale, Princeton). I've been successful in Canada, and I think the fact that I've been wait listed stands for something.

Should I retake the SAT? I really think I can nail a 2400 - if I put in enough time. Also, what do I need to do in freshman year to improve my odds of transferring into HYP/Penn?

Thanks!

0% at Princeton (no transfers), 1% at Harvard, 2% at Yale, 9% at Penn. I got stuck at a Canadian university as well. They suck–you’ll see. They are very large, unfriendly, no one lives on campus, there are no research opportunities, class sizes with 300+ people, etc. Realistically, Penn is your only chance. I recommend applying to a bunch of them; I took the shotgun approach myself due to extremely low acceptance rates.

I got wait listed - I hope that counts for something! What university are you at?
