I am planning to drop out of my university that I currently attend to and went for one semester (have 2.7 gpa). This uni is located in Japan but has the US college system. I took iB in high school and passed with a score of 24. I am extremely unsatisfied with my current university and want to transfer to either CSU Long Beach or Fullerton. The only problem is, they require 60 credits and that is going to take a long time, and I want to leave now. Is it risky if I apply as a freshman and hand in only high school diploma and transcripts and not hand in college transcript?
Once the clock starts ie you start college classes, you would need the 60 semester units completed by the end of the academic year that you apply in.
Very risky to misrepresent yourself as a Freshman when in actuality you are a Transfer applicant. Eventually the truth will come out so I would not take that chance. Go to a California community and transfer with the 60 semester units like the majority of CSU transfers.
The colleges do find out if you have taken previous coursework.
You are required to list all previous university work.
You are also required to electronically sign the application indicating that you have been truthful and forthcoming on your application. If you sign and you intentionally omit information, you can be expelled.
Not worth it.
You can leave your university at any time and begin courses at a community college.
Make certain that you have all of your university records formally translated and evaluated. Evaluations performed by WES.org are likely to be accepted by both the CC you transfer to now and the 4-year university you want to finish at. Depending on the number of credits awarded for your IB exam scores and for this semester of studies, you might be able to finish up quickly at the CC.
i’d head to a CC that’s ‘local’ to your target school and knock out the units you need there.
