Transferring as a Pre-Med Student

I need some advice guys! I am a sophomore pre-med student at Miami University (Ohio). I have been thinking of transferring since the end of freshman year because of my grades that I worry are not good enough for med school (at a 3.0 now). Part of this is because I'm just not interested in my science classes. I honestly don't think medical school is my passion anymore. I have always loved meteorology (totally different) and feel this is what I'm really wanting to pursue. The only problem is the fact that Miami does not offer a major in atmospheric sciences so I would HAVE to transfer. I'm so torn, though, because I don't want to leave all my great friends (the best I've ever had and we're really close) and a school that I love behind. I've had such a great college experience here and the opportunities I've had are great! And for next year I already signed a lease to live with my best friends in an apartment. I am worried about starting over if I transfer. If I stayed here I would keep pursuing pre-med, but if I don't get in I don't know what I'll do otherwise. I know that if I don't get in something will work out...but the uncertainty freaks me out. Any advice?

You should definitely transfer (“Follow your dreams” or whatever), but if you are emotionally incapable of leaving your friends, you could just limit yourself to schools located within a reasonable distance of Miami University.
