I’m looking for colleges to transfer to, but many of the ones I’m looking for require my high school gpa and ACT scores from when I was ages 14-17. Now as a 19 year old, my college grades, work ethic, and social involvement has changed drastically.
I feel they won’t see this as growth, but a blemish on my application. What are everyones thoughts?
Usually after 30 hours of college credit, most schools won’t even look at your high school records. If you have under 30 hours, then yes, they look at your high school transcripts. College GPA carries far more weight than high school GPA, so if college is strong, you’re already ahead in the game. I wouldn’t worry about how they might interpret your scores, because there’s really nothing you can do about it anyway Just send what you have and see what happens.
To clarify, this means that if you apply to transfer as a junior (60 credits complete by transfer, which typically means applying when you have 30-45 credits complete), your high school record will be less important or not important, since you will have a substantial college record.
If you apply to transfer as a sophomore (30 credits complete by transfer, which typically means applying when your 0-15 credits complete), then your high school record will still be important because you will have little or no college record.
