After my first year at my original school, I decided that I wanted to transfer to a bigger school in my state to get the typical college experience. My major is education and my new school offers a 5 year masters program which my old school does not. Now that I am at my new school I am not sure I made the right decision. I visited my old school this weekend and was able to hang out with my old friends and it just felt like the right place to be. I feel like I made a quick decision to transfer and wish I had given it more time .Its not that I don’t like my new school but I just really miss my old school. I know I should give it some time but I’m having a hard time here and making friends too. I’m not sure if I should transfer back to my old school, but I feel like that would be a big hassle and I feel like my parents would be against me transferring back. What should I do? Does anyone else feel the same way?
Have you contacted your old school to see if thats even possible?
Not sure of your living situation and it might also help to know which school you currently attend so we can give specific advice… Transferring from one CSU or UC to another after a year is pretty unusual but, it probably makes sense to stick where you are for at least a year.
Many of the larger campuses have a large portion of students who commute from their family homes and leave when their classes are over. This can make it tougher to meet people but, it is still doable - but you need to work at it. Your new school will have some on-campus activities, sporting events, live ,music, comedy and the like - attend a bunch of them, hang out on campus after and between classes, attend club day and fraternity/sorority rush, Pick a few and get involved.
Which schools are your referring to in your post? I would follow @NCalRent ‘s advice and contact the original school to see if it is even possible at this point.
