Transferring back to original college?

I started college in August of 2016 at Kennesaw State University as a nursing major. Kennesaw State is about 10 minutes from my house, I had been able to just commute from home. My plan was to be able to get into Kennesaw’s nursing program and graduate in 2020. I realized nursing wasn’t for me and thought about switching to a communications major. Long story short, I transferred to the University of Georgia in hopes of getting into Grady (their college of journalism and mass communications). I have applied to Grady and am awaiting the decision, but there is a chance that I won’t get the major that I want. If I stay at UGA, it will take me at least 69 more credit hours to graduate and I would be graduating with an art degree, also their program is very strict on making it at least 2 years but I would like to finish college as soon as possible. UGA also has more clubs than KSU, which allows me to make more connections which is something that is important for the mass communications industry. At KSU, I would have to take the entrance exam for their communications school, but I would be able to get the major I wanted and I would need 57 more credits, at KSU I would graduate with a science degree. I know at KSU I would be able to graduate within a year. I just feel like employers seeing UGA on my resume would help. After college I would like to do this prestigious program and after looking on linkedIn, I have seen people who have gotten into the program and they have degrees from UGA. Although, I have also seen multiple people from both schools participate in an internship I would also like to do. I am stuck, I know I would be able to succeed at Kennesaw but I want to make my parents proud and be able to have a secure job in the future. Should I transfer back to Kennesaw? If any one has ever had a similar situation or could help me out with any advice, I would greatly appreciate it.

BA vs BS doesn’t matter. The courses you take, the grades you earn, and your work/internship experience matter.

Stay where you are for now. Take advantage of everything UGA has to offer. If you aren’t accepted to Grady, that will be the time to think about transferring.
