Transferring & Credits

I'm planning on transferring this year as an incoming soph, but if I don't make it to the schools I apply to, then I will be transferring the following year as an incoming junior.

My question regards transfer. I have a couple of schools in mind that I want to try, all that specialize in the major I wish to go into - Advertising/PR. The thing is, the requirements for these schools are all different. For example, Syracuse wants some communication and advertising classes whilst USC's Anneberg wants some Business.

On top of that, the classes seem different. For example, COM101 is titled differently at my university than it is at Syracuse.

Thus, I was thinking about just taking all general ed classes since I am still a first year. Are all general ed classes about the same for each school?

Sorry for the questions - I am a first gen. college student so nobody in my family can help and I'm abroad so I have no counselors that are knowledgeable in American schools.

Thanks! (:

Bump - I have another question to add on.
Would it be rude to mention to staff that I plan to transfer? Because I am choosing my classes for spring semester and maybe to clarify my questions above, I’d have to tell them.

But I feel rude >_<
