Transferring Freshmen

So I started at my current Top25 (USNews University) as an Econ major and I'm really not feeling comfortable over here. Maybe its just the attitude of the other students, or my own personal reasons, but I just feel like this isn't the "right" fit that I thought it would be.

So I was considering applying as a transfer and entering the new school as a sophomore. HOWEVER: When I was registering for classes I cleared out of a lot of PreReqs and Freshman courses because of my IB scores and so I'm taking all 300 level courses with juniors and seniors and my first round of midterms went pretty terribly - I didn't have the normal adjustment period like the rest of the people in my year.

Looking down the road I can see myself finishing off the semester with around a 3.0 GPA, which is really upsetting to me.

Anyways I wanted to apply to a few schools (namely Georgetown, Claremont McKenna, UPenn) all of which I applied to last year (and got waitlisted/rejected). Should I even bother?
