I just finished my first year at CSUF and I am a graphic design major. (I would like to get more involved with user experience design and/or interactive design). I am debating between the graphic design program and the graphic communications program at Cal Poly SLO and I feel that by transferring, I might have a better chance of learning UX/UI material at this polytech school. At CSUF, the graphic design program is more geared towards the fine arts aspect.
My overall gpa is a 3.82 and I am a pretty active person at school (I’ve done volunteering, had several officer positions in clubs.) I have used assist.org to see what classes are transferable and have done some research on the Cal Poly SLO website.
I’d like to know if there might be a possibility for me to transfer into SLO and if it is worth transferring. Ever since I decided to go into user experience design, I have become really motivated to pursue a career in this field. It’s been a tough journey, but I want to have options open in order for me to succeed. I’ve also been trying to find other schools that I could possibly transfer with this GPA that has a graphic design/user experience program, but that has been a challenge.
