I would like to transfer from a small, private 4 year college to UC Davis. I know that community college students have priority, but I'm not sure how much more difficult it is for those transferring from 4 years to get in. If anyone has any input or stats on this, please let me know. I realize I could go to a community college next year, but would going to a 4 year, then a community college, then a UC look bad to med schools?

I also have questions about which major to select on my application. Although I am premed and considering a Bio major, I am genuinely interested in Religious Studies. Biology is a selective major, and it looks like I will need a full year of calc to transfer in. However, I've heard most med schools are fine with just one semester. I would rather take another religious studies class than another semester of calc.

Anyone know how difficult it would be to transfer in as a Religious Studies major? Would they be hesitant to let me in since I've only taken a new testament class (I've also taken philosophy and intend on taking two more religious studies classes next year)? I really do not want it to look like I am just choosing Religious Studies as an easy way in put me at risk.

Here are my stats if that will help:

High School GPA: 4.07?
College GPA: 3.89

I took 3 APs (French, Bio, and English) and got 4's on them and A's in the classes

I got A's in all my college classes except Stats, in which I got a B+. These included World History, Design I, Gen Chem I and II, Bio I, Gen Philosophy, Gen Psychology, and Life and Lit of New Testament (and Weight Training for what it's worth haha).

Next semester I'm taking Ochem, calc, bio, and maybe Intro to Christian Doctrine. The next semester, I'm taking Ochem and genetics, and maybe Calc/Life and Lit of the Old Testament. A lot of this depends on what I'm transferring in as.

That was probably confusing, but thanks so much for taking the time to read through this! If I need to clarify something, let me know!
