<p>Hi, I am currently a sophomore at a private christian college and am looking to transfer to a UC. My decision has to do mostly with financial and academic reasons. I am a biology major with a low GPA 2.8. (In high school I had a 3.6 gpa) Based on the threads that I have read, I should most likely transfer to a CC, correct? </p>
<p>Should I even try applying to a low level UC this semester? Such as a UC Merced? </p>
<p>Or should I transfer to a CC, find out which of my classes actually transfer, finish up the pre-reqs and then apply to a UC? How long would this second option take? And if I turn around my grades at the CC will I have a good chance at getting into a good UC? (UCB, UCSD UCSB etc.)</p>
<p>Ive got 45 units from my current school, not including the 15 I'm taking this semester. </p>
<p>My ultimate goal is to get into Med School, not a good start, I know. But hey...its my dream and I'm willing to do whatever it takes. Any info and guidance is much appreciated. Thank you.</p>
