Hello,

I am an international student (A minority in almost every good school) who goes to Emory University. Sadly, I happen to be a freshman. (I took a year to take some courses at UCLA for two semesters) My current GPA is 3.9; I have 24 credit hours so far, planning to take 21 next semester. My intended majors are math and philosophy (or comparative literature). The reason why I am considering the option of transferring to a school in NYC is because I wish to work closely with "politically alternative" magazines and other literary magazines which are all based in the city. Beyond this, the math department at Columbia has many influential professors in my range of interests (Foundations of mathematics, linear algebra/topology and mathematical physics.)

What I wish to know is that Columbia's requirements for international students who study at US universities: for example, do I have to take the TOEFL/IELTS again? And do I have to take the ACT/SAT again as well? And what are my chances really?
