Hi everyone I'm currently admitted to CNR as a junior in major of EEP ,
is there any chance I can switch my college to L&S and even to be a econ major?
I know what really important is my first semester GPA, but apart from this,
is there anything else I should beware of?
and how about the chance of getting into what I want?

Much much appreciated for you guys help!
The deadline is approaching and up till this moment
I still have no clue of which UCs I should pick(I got offers from other UCs as Econ major)
Please please help me out!

If you are admitted declared as an EEP major, you may want to stay in it for now (the EEP major accepts the regular Economics 101A or 100A in place of EEP 100). Since both the EEP and regular Economics major need to be applied to get into, transferring to L&S Undeclared before being accepted into a major means that there is a possibility of not being able to get into either one.

If you stay in EEP and then apply to Economics, you can then wait until you are accepted to change into L&S and Economics. And if you are not accepted, you can stay in EEP and complete a bachelor’s degree in that major.

Note that several EEP courses are the same as some Economics courses (C101, C102, C151, C181). If you do stay in the EEP major, you may still be able to use major courses for whatever area of interest in Economics you have. If not, you may still have free elective space to take additional Economics courses.

Thanks for your reply!
Maybe I used the wrong word thou, I’m not yet in any major before the declaration process I think…just simply be admitted into CNR. But my ultimate goal is still aiming to be an econ major, so that’s why I concern about what I can do with a different major in the BEST UC in California. I absolutely know what you’re saying up here. In that sense, would you guys suggest me to go to UCSD’s econ major for what I want?

As far as what school / major to go to, you may want to check the course catalog to see which offers more of what you are interested in:

[Berkeley Economics](http://sis.berkeley.edu/catalog/gcc_list_crse_req?p_dept_name=Economics&p_dept_cd=ECON)
[Berkeley EEP](http://sis.berkeley.edu/catalog/gcc_view_req?p_dept_cd=ENVECON)
[UCSD Economics](Economics)

Note: UCSD is on a quarter system, so you take 1.5 times as many units / courses, but each course is typically 2/3 the “size” and each quarter unit is 2/3 of a semester unit.
