Transferring From College/McDonogh to Walsh SFS

How easy is it to transfer from the business school or college to the foreign services school?

It’s easy, despite what some say. You just write a one page essay, and I heard straight from the horse’s mouth that 95% of those who switch among schools (yes, not just ___-> SFS) have their internal transfer approved, and that those that are not approved simply did not know why they wanted to switch or have a plan of what they would do in the new school. It actually doesn’t make a difference if you are switching among SFS, COL, MSB, or NHS, because they do have pretty similar stats and once you’re in, you’re in. If you don’t already go to Georgetown, if you tell the admissions office you want to switch before mid June, they handle it and you don’t need to even “transfer” after a year.

The previous post was half-right. It is very easy to switch schools over the summer prior to commencing your freshmen year. HOWEVER, once you are in a school, you will be required to have a certain GPA and provide essays to transfer. It is not that easy to transfer. Especially if you want to transfer to the SFS and you don’t take economics or a language your first year.

Yeah, but every single person I have talked to who tried to transfer did so successfully and they at least say they rarely reject requests for transfer

Are these people who transfered prior to beginning their freshman year? Because I know people who have done that easily. However, I know people who have not been able to transfer after freshman year
