Transferring from community college to Claremont Mckenna

Hi all,

I just wanted to get some advice on what I should do in order to get into the schools I want after I leave community college. I am looking at the following schools to play soccer for, as well as getting a great education.

Claremont Mckenna
Pomona
Pitzer
Bowdoin
Vassar
University of Chicago

My HS GPA was 3.1, SAT was 1280, 750 verbal, 530 math ( I know it's not amazing, but I wasn't a good student back then)
Went to CU Boulder for a semester, transferred to a cc in Cali, 4.0 GPA.

My extracurriculars include an internship with a nonprofit, volunteer work, and soccer.

After looking at some other posts I understand that I may not be a "model" candidate, but that's why I'm asking for advice. I plan on applying for Spring '13.

Also, since I plan on playing soccer, how much can the coach help me in the application process?

Ask the soccer question on the athletic recruits forum. Otherwise, what sort of advice are you looking for? A lot will depend on your gpa and if the school is looking for transfers with your background. Check the common data set to see how many transfers they accept each year.

I didn’t bring this up in my forst post but I was wondering how important is my SAT scores? And if they are important, would it be a good idea to retake them?

Thanks for the other information though.
