Transferring from Cornell

Hi everyone, I'm looking for a little advice, thank you in advance for your time!
First off I've been looking around on the Columbia boards for statistics of those who have transferred, could anybody direct me to a thread with alot of those? I can only find one for transfers to GS and I'm looking for transfers to CC.

Now, I've been at Cornell for about a month now and I'm finding that my program isnt really a great fit. I was looking for a Neuroscience type program and all Cornell offers that's much close to that is Psychology and Human Development. Now I enjoy learning about human development but I don't really feel it's in the same direction I want to go with my studies overall. I have been extremely interested in Columbia for a long time and I would love to transfer there. It has a Neuroscience program that is what I'm looking for and a creative writing program, which I would love to take classes in just for fun (and if not major in as well)and it offers what one could call a "nontraditional" college experience, which is good because I could very well fit into that small category of students who don't really buy into what could be called the traditional college experience (drinking, frats, whatever you may call it etc.) I'm also looking for more of a networking opportunity, which I would presume is much easier to do in NYC than Ithaca, which is rather small (beautiful but small.) Can anyone give me any additional advice on how to transfer over, besides the usual 'get good grades' etc.? My ACT is rather low at 29, should I re-take it? I toured the campus once and I am going back in less than a month to tour it again, at that time should I arrange to meet with members of the Neuroscience department or is that a little selfish? Does transferring from an Ivy League university increase my chances of acceptance at all? How about matching my freshman schedule to match that of The Core? Please give me some advice and thank you so much!
