I understand there were several similar posts, so I apologize if this is a forum that isn’t really necessary.
I am currently a sophomore in high school, and at the moment I am planning on applying to Rutgers SEBS my senior year, and majoring in animal sciences. I am definitely not expecting to be unhappy there, and I have met with someone who has recently completed their animal science major and is now attending UPenn (veterinary) and was extremely happy. I had a few questions:
-How significant is the actual undergrad college/university when applying to veterinary schools, such as Cornell? Relative to grades?
There was one thing that I have been trying to wrap my head around conceptually… My high school records are nothing short of highly unimpressive, I took primarily CP classes my freshman year, managed to have a marking period of nearly straight Bs, and have not been been in any competitive/selective (varsity teams, etc.). Assuming I magically fall into a pile of $100,000 to pay for tuition (okay, not funny), maintain a high GPA and manage to have an impressive list of ECs, how much of a weight will high school act if I apply as a transfer at Cornell, tufts, or other universities with similar transfer acceptance rates?
I know this in the future and incredibly irrelevant at the moment, but I thought it would be good to be in the know
Thank you!
