Hi there!
I am at the end of my senior year and have committed to attend St. Edward's University on the Presidential Scholarship (20k/year). However, my issue is that SEU is not my first choice school. I previously committed to Penn State, my dream school, but cancelled my contract after deciding that I did not want to graduate 150k+ in debt. My plan as of now is to complete 30 transferable credits as a marketing major and transfer to UT Austin as a sophomore. There is a high likelihood that I will be rejected from the College of Communications at UT, as their admissions are very competitive. This worries me. So, to state my question: if I were to be rejected from UT, would it be foolish of me to just transfer to PSU either my sophomore/junior year and graduate from a "name brand" school? Making apt financial decisions is crucial to me, but I am also so passionately dedicated to graduating from a school that I can be proud to say I went to. I've heard time and time again that Penn State is worth the OOS tuition because of the guarantee of getting a job with a Penn State degree as well as alumni connections. But then again, I've also heard that no undergrad degree is not worth 150k in loans. I'm conflicted. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

P.S. One other thing; I only applied to SEU as a marketing major because they did not have an advertising program. Are marketing and advertising closely enough related that I can gain some credits towards an advertising major at either UT or PSU? Advice on what I should do about that situation?
