Transferring from UWB to Seattle?

I will be attending UWB as a freshmen this fall. I know that it is very difficult to transfer, as most transfers come form Community Colleges. What do they look for when transferring from a 4-year school? More credits/high GPA? Or is it best to transfer after a year? I am very interested in pursing a career in Public Health. UWB is opening up a new degree that is very similar to UW Seattle's "Public Health" degree. Because of my family financial situation, I receive the College Bound Scholarship which helps pay most of my tuition if I stay in state. Because of this, UW Seattle and Bothell are my 2 options if I want to pursue Public Health, as there are no other schools in Washington that offer the degree. I am interested in transferring to Seattle down the road if I can, so what are some suggestions? I am also not sure how course work transfers from both schools? Has anyone here transferred, and if so how was the process?

I have been preparing to transfer to the UW from a community college for the last two years, and, from the research that I’ve done, you need to display a serious need to transfer to the Seattle campus. From what I read, you don’t really have a reason. You said yourself, UWB is starting a program that is very similar to UW Seattle’s. If you are really determined to transfer, get the best grades you can, satisfy as many prereqs as you can, and find a GOOD reason to transfer to UWS.

shaemus said everything right.

Go to a CC. If you get good grades, you can always transfer to Bothell and have much higher chances of being accepted into Seattle.

What do you guys think is a good reason to transfer? The school not having the major? I am interested in other fields as well, and I know UWB is limited in degrees. From their perspective, what are the things they are looking at?
