I will be attending U of C in the fall, and as of now am extremely excited about it. But I am curious in how easy transferring from U of C to another university is? Because I am not positive if this is the right college for me. Any past response would greatly be appreciated.

If your grades are good, it is typically not difficult.

What is the transfer admission rate at Chicago?

I'd tell you but it may take too much energy and time to read my post... at least a lot more than using google or browsing through Chicago's website. So stop reading NOW.

I read on the website that 575 applications came in for transfer admissions, and 125 were ultimately accepted. (I was one of them!) whoo! But, I'm also not sure if it's the place for me. Frankly, I'm terrified about being academically b*tch slapped (good grades help my confidence and thus help me strive), and I'm worried I won't make any friends. What can anyone say about these worries of mine, if anything...

Simplyconfused,

Don't worry about the friends thing. All of us on CC can get together during O Week, and we will have a great time. :) Also, I live in Hyde Park, and most of my friends are students here; I am rather shy, so I am not the type to go up to someone and say "hello," but somehow I have managed to find acquaintances, through the Greek courses, studying at the Reg, and swing dancing.

As for grades, I have taken Greek classes through the College, and all I know is that is department regularly gives out anything from As to Ds, so be forewarned. This might be bad for me as a prospective Classics major, as I become nervous and upset if I receive anything lower than an A-. I suppose I will just have to cope. (I know other departments give better grades, though, so you need not worry; just study hard.)
