Transferring into Economics & Accounting major-- Need help!

Hey. I just had a quick question about this major. I’m currently a senior in high school and already thinking about transferring because I only it into UCR and UCSC. Could someone who had already transferred into this major give me some insight of how hard these classes were at a CC? Also, could you list all the classes that are needed for TAG? I heard if you even miss one, you can get denied from TAG. So, could someone list the classes that I need to take in order to fulfill my TAG?

since you are going to be a college student in just a few months, I am confident you can figure out how to use a web browser and find the required classes for TAG all on your own.

@mikemac Lol, I’m positive I know how to use a web browser. I just want to make sure they’re correct because if I mess up my schedule, I’m screwed.

I believe the TAG requirements only include six classesclasses: macroeconomics, microeconomics, calc 1, calc 2, financial accounting 1, and financial accounting 2 right? This is intended for people who actually want to help me and not respond with “you should know how to use a web browser by now.” Thanks.

Still need help. Are those the 6 classes needed for TAG?

UCSB TAG for Economics and Accounting requires you to finish all your pre-reqs. If not, they will rescind your TAG and will evaluate your application as regular applicants. The pre reqs for econ and accounting major are here under the “Pre major” and “Preparation for Major” https://my.sa.ucsb.edu/catalog/Current/Documents/2015_Majors/LS/Econ/Econ-Accounting-BA-2015.pdf

Additionally you can compare transfer 3rd and 4th year econ and accounting schedule to see which classes you will have to take at UCSB and which classes you will have to complete the equivalent of at your CC:
https://econ.ucsb.edu/undergraduate/Econ_Acct_Transfers_2015.pdf

Also the 6 classes you used are equal to the following UCSB courses so you can check those off the major sheet I linked you and see what classes you have left other than these six:

Microeconomics = Econ 1 ---------------------
Macroeconomics = Econ 2 --------------------
Calc 1 = Math 3A or Math 34A -------------------
Calc 2 = Math 3B or Math 34B ------------------
financial accounting 1 = Econ 3A --------------------
financial accounting 2 = Econ 3B -------------------

Hope this helped! Good Luck!
