transferring into Theatre BFA

Well I am a freshman at a school here and Florida and i hate it.
I really love theatre and i know Syracuse has a great program.
I am signed up to audition on January 9th.

Just wondering what the audition will be like? I know I will do my two monologues but i'm nervous about the improv stuff they will throw at me. I read on another forum that they will ask you to perform your comedic monologue as a dramatic one and vice versa.
I also read that they made some people drag a trash can around the room and perform the monologue. Just wanted to know some of the stuff they might throw at me?

Also, what do you think my chances are? do they usually accept any transfers?

How many audition for Syracuse and how many get in?

Thanks guys.
Im just really nervous!

I hadn’t heard of “dragging a trash can” but that makes sense. The most common one is “perform your monologue while stacking up those chairs”.

I have no idea what your chances are, it all depends on how good your audition is, and of course I haven’t seen your audition. Work as hard as you can on your audition, and see if you can get somebody to help you with it. Some of the people you are competing with will have hired “audition coaches”.

But give it your best shot, because you don’t have anything to lose!
