Just joined the board and have a question or two about transferring to a top Business school. A bit about myself:

Went to a small but well regarded university in the northeast, graduated with a 2.6 GPA, where I suffered from a few bad medical conditions which affected my grades significantly.

Am currently enrolled at the University of Connecticut, working towards my MBA, have taken several classes so far and have a 3.67 GPA.

I also do risk management at a hedge fund.

Now, I am throwing around the idea of transferring to a top-20 or top-10 business school. My concerns about transferring are largely about my below average GPA with my undergraduate work. I would also like to stay in the hedge fund community and go to school in the NYC, SF or Chicago areas. Kellogg would be a dream school, but, again, I am unsure of the affect my undergrad work would have on my application.

Just looking for a little imput. Most of my friends think I should be happy where I am, but I want to get the best education possible and learn from the best.

Thanks.
