Transferring out after one year of CGS

Hi… I wanted to see if it was possible to transfer out of BU after being in only one year of CGS. It’s not the college as much as the city, being in Boston just made me realize how this is not really my scene and I’d like to go somewhere closer to what i’ve been raised around. i have a college in mind but honestly i just wanted to know how easy/difficult it would be for me to transfer out right now.

You can transfer from CGS to another university after one year. You cannot transfer from CGS internally within BU after one year.

It’s kind of late to transfer to another university for Fall, 2019. Success in transferring would depend on your GPA and the selectivity of the other university.

Thank you, and yes i figure it’s kind of late but I feel like I can manage it. Thanks again

Not to be a downer but at this point, it’s not about you managing it. Almost all the transfer application deadlines passed months ago. Most schools have already sent their decision letters. You will find very few schools you can even apply at. My suggestion is that you stick it out at BU for another semester and apply to a school you really wanna go to rather than one that simply has an extraordinarily late application deadline

It is too late to transfer to many, but not all, schools for fall enrollment. There look to be 400+ schools still taking transfer apps on this list https://www.nacacnet.org/news–publications/Research/CollegeOpenings/

You can also reach out directly to any school’s transfer admissions officer to see if there are openings. Good luck.
